Western Grey Squirrel

Sciurus griseus

Western grey squirrels have been on the decline in California, displaced by human habitat changes, even as the (reddish) eastern fox squirrel has increased.  But we still have them at Westmont!  They may be more widespread, but personal reports and trail cameras have placed one or two near the top entrance to Westmont; in the pines in front of the gym, below the DC, and around Page; in the oaks behind Clark; and in the ravine by the Physical Plant.
